WORKSHOPS – SATURDAY 12:30 pm – 1:00 pm
Podcasts are fast becoming one of the most important content streams here in the UK, and they can be a brilliant way to connect with new audiences and start a fresh conversation. We know this because our podcast has really helped us spread the message that you can create a brilliant career up here in the north, and the This North Works podcast debuted at number 3 in the iTunes career chart!
In this session we’ll delve into all things podcasting, and by the time you leave, you’ll have all the facts and technical know how to start your own. We’ll cover everything from deciding on a topic, to editing your podcast and sharing it with the world. If you have any specific questions you’d like us to answer during the workshop, please feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sophie is the founder of This North Works and Head of Retail & Expansion at leading beauty on demand company, blowLTD. She founded This North Works earlier this year to put a spotlight on the brilliant career and lifestyle opportunities that exist here in the north, and to prove that you don’t have to be in London to have a successful, ambitious and interesting career. This North Works launched with a podcast in September which debuted at number 3 in the Careers chart on iTunes. Each week Sophie interviews someone inspiring about their career journey so far and their experience of living and working up north – make sure to check out episode 4 with NPF founder Simone Roche MBE!
There are also some live events being planned, so keep your eyes peeled for those. “I’m supporting Northern Power Futures because I truly believe in the potential of the north. There’s a real momentum up here at the moment, but to make a lasting and progressive change, we need to engage the right people and help them see what’s possible, and I know that Northern Power Futures will go a long way towards doing that”.
