Want to get into politics, represent your community and truly take a lead in making change locally? It’s hard to know where to start but this panel who have been there and done that will take you through the practicalities of how to run for a public role, as well as highlight the challenges and great opportunities that come from being an elected official.
MEET THE PANEL:
Poppy is studying government and politics, psychology, and english combined A-levels at The Manchester College.
She used to be in the Trafford youth cabinet and is a member of the labour party.
She believes ‘it’s really important to engage young people in politics’

Sean is the CEO, Infrastructure at Telcom, a leading technology company, growing in Manchester. He was Leader of Trafford Council between 2014-18 and Vice Chairman of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, with portfolio responsibility for Skills, Employment and a Digital City Region. He sits on the boards of Trafford Housing Trust and the National Housing Federation and is a keen marathon runner.
